Terms of Service

1. This agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Will Mulliken, who runs NowFlow ("NowFlow", "we", "us"). They cover your use of NowFlow's website, apps and features (the "Service"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these Terms.

By creating an account, signing in or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

These Terms take effect on November 6, 2026.

2. Who can use NowFlow

• You must be at least 13 years old.
• If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms for you, and they're responsible for your use of the Service.
• You may not use the Service if the law where you are forbids it, or if we've previously closed your account for breaking these Terms.
• Each account is for one person. Don't share it or let anyone else use it.

3. Your account

Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password and the email account you sign up with secure: NowFlow may email you a code to confirm your address or to sign you in. You're responsible for everything done through your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us right away and change your password.

We may require an invite code to create an account, and we may limit how many accounts can be made from one place.

4. What NowFlow is, and what it isn't

NowFlow is a study workspace. It gathers your assignments, materials and notes, shows you what to work on next, and offers AI help along the way.

NowFlow is early-access software that is still being built. Features may change, appear or go away, the Service may be unavailable at times, and data may be lost. Your school's systems (such as Canvas) and your own files remain the official record of your work and deadlines. Keep your own copies of anything important, and check deadlines and requirements at their source.

NowFlow isn't provided by, affiliated with or endorsed by your school, Instructure (Canvas), Google, Anthropic, YouTube or any other company whose service NowFlow works with. Their names belong to them.

5. Services you connect

You can connect accounts you hold with other services, such as your school's Canvas and your Google account. When you do:

• You authorize NowFlow to access those accounts on your behalf, within the permissions you grant, to provide the features you use.
• You confirm that the accounts are yours and that connecting them is allowed by those services and by your school.
• Those services' own terms and policies still apply to you. We aren't responsible for them, for changes they make, or for their availability.
• You can disconnect any of them at any time in Settings.

6. When NowFlow acts for you

Some features act in a connected service at your direction: for example, saving a file to your Google Drive, editing a Google Doc you're typing in, the assistant making a Doc or editing a Doc or Slides deck you've asked it to change, or submitting an assignment to Canvas. NowFlow does these things only when you ask, using your own access. Turning work in (to Canvas or Gradescope) and answering a quiz always take your own click.

Anything NowFlow submits, saves or changes at your direction is your own action and your own submission. Check your work before you submit it. We aren't responsible for the content, timing or outcome of anything you direct NowFlow to do, including late or missing submissions, grades or other academic results.

7. Academic integrity

You agree to:

• Follow your school's academic integrity policies and each instructor's rules, including any rules about AI tools. Where a course limits or forbids such tools, those limits apply to NowFlow too.
• Never use NowFlow during proctored exams, lockdown-browser exams or any assessment where outside help isn't allowed.
• Not present work NowFlow helped produce as entirely your own where your school or instructor doesn't allow that.

You alone are responsible for how you use NowFlow in your courses and for any consequences under your school's policies.

8. AI features

Many of NowFlow's features use artificial intelligence, provided by Anthropic. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or not right for your situation, even when it sounds sure of itself. This includes summaries of instructions, checks of your draft against a rubric, explanations, plans, answers to your questions, notes filled in from a lecture, and changes the assistant makes to your files. Review what it changes; Google keeps a version history of your Docs and Slides.

Use your own judgment and check important information at its source. NowFlow's checks and suggestions are guidance, not grades, and passing them doesn't mean your work meets the requirements. AI output isn't professional advice of any kind (such as medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice).

9. Your content

"Your content" is everything you put into NowFlow or have NowFlow bring in for you: tasks, files, notes, drafts, messages, and what NowFlow reads from the services you connect. You keep all rights to it.

You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the Service for you, keep it secure and support you. This includes sending parts of it to our service providers (such as our AI provider) to produce the features you use, as our Privacy Policy describes. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups, which expire as the Privacy Policy describes.

We don't sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

You confirm that you have the right to put your content into NowFlow, and that doing so doesn't break any law or anyone else's rights.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve NowFlow without owing you anything. We'll handle any personal information in feedback as our Privacy Policy describes.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break any law, or use the Service to harm, harass, threaten, impersonate or deceive anyone.
• Access, or try to access, any account, data or system that isn't yours, including other people's Canvas or Google accounts.
• Upload or share anything you don't have the right to, or anything unlawful, infringing, malicious or abusive.
• Probe, scan or test the Service for weaknesses, or get around its security, limits or access controls, unless we've agreed in writing. (If you find a security problem, please tell us privately.)
• Interfere with or overload the Service, or use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access it beyond normal personal use.
• Copy, change, reverse engineer or resell the Service, except as the law expressly allows.
• Use the Service's AI features to create content that our AI provider's usage policies forbid, or try to make them ignore their instructions.

11. Fees

NowFlow is free to use right now. If we ever offer paid features, we'll tell you the price and terms before you're charged anything, and you'll choose whether to pay. We'll never charge you without your agreement.

12. Other sites and content

NowFlow can show content from other services inside its windows, such as videos, calculators, music, web pages and files from Canvas or Google. That content belongs to those services, is governed by their terms and policies, and isn't under our control. We aren't responsible for it.

13. NowFlow itself

NowFlow's software, design, name and logo belong to us or the people we license them from. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the Service for your own studies, under these Terms. We keep all other rights.

14. Ending your use

You can stop using NowFlow at any time, and delete your account in Settings. Deleting it removes your content as the Privacy Policy describes.

We may suspend or close your account, or limit your access, if you break these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to save your content. We may also change or stop offering the Service; if we stop it altogether, we'll try to give you reasonable notice so you can save your content.

Sections 7 to 10 and 15 to 20 continue to apply after your use ends.

15. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING AI OUTPUT) WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE, OR THAT YOUR CONTENT WON'T BE LOST.

16. Limits on our liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GRADES, ACADEMIC STANDING, OPPORTUNITIES, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR US$50.

Some places don't allow some of these disclaimers or limits. Where that's so, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

17. Your responsibility to us

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and compensate us for claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your content, your breaking these Terms or your school's rules, or your violating any law or anyone else's rights.

18. Disagreements

If you have a problem with NowFlow, please contact us first: most things can be sorted out quickly. You agree to try to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days before starting a formal proceeding.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any formal proceeding must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Santa Barbara County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the United States, you also keep any protections that the law where you live gives you and that can't be waived by agreement.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as NowFlow changes. We'll post the new version here with its effective date. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in NowFlow before it takes effect and ask you to agree to it. If you don't agree to the new Terms, stop using the Service and delete your account. Otherwise, using the Service after the change means you accept it.

20. General

• These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service, and replace any earlier ones.
• If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies, and that part is applied as fully as the law allows.
• If we don't enforce a part of these Terms right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
• You can't transfer your rights or duties under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over the Service, and they'll be bound by these Terms.
• Neither of us is responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
• We may send you notices in NowFlow or by email. Nothing in these Terms makes either of us the other's agent or partner, or gives anyone else rights under them.
